Yellow vs. Blue's story
Yellow vs. Blue is a youth-led organization registered in Spain and the UK, but the initiative started from Egypt in November 2020!
Why did it start?
Yellow vs. Blue began as a response to a rising wave of depression, loneliness, and suicide among young people. We realized that many youth were struggling with mental health (including us), but people did not really understand what does that mean, depressed? Oh, you mean you are sad, go eat and ice cream, go with friends, pray, etc.. and you will be fine!
And we thought, if we are losing our youth to hopelessness and isolation, then who will carry the future forward? That’s why Yellow vs. Blue started, from our own personal stories to the world, to build a space where people feel that they belong, that their voices matter, and that healing is possible.
Our mission is not about “fixing” mental health or offering final answers. It’s about helping people understand what’s going on inside their minds, learn how to face it, and find tools to improve their well-being through art. So, it is about creating a supportive community where no one has to face their struggles alone, and find creative ways to do it as well!
We do this through creativity, connection, and care. With backgrounds in facilitation, art therapy approaches, and NLP coaching, we use arts, film, and theatre as pathways for expression and growth.
We are not therapists or clinical psychologists, and we don’t treat severe mental health conditions. What we do is focus on prevention, awareness, and empowerment. We work at the roots, helping people recognize their emotions, connect with others, and discover their own strength before reaching a crisis point.
Yellow vs. Blue is more than a project, it’s a movement toward a world where mental health is understood, creativity is healing, and connection becomes the bridge to change.
So briefly, Our mission is to empower and support young individuals in their journey towards better mental health and wellbeing. We strive to provide a safe and creative space that fosters personal growth and self-expression through a variety of mediums. Our aim is to promote mental health awareness and destigmatize mental health challenges while encouraging young individuals to explore their unique identities and abilities. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential, and we are committed to supporting them achieve that.

''I fell in love with Koppang and Norway. And how cozy their community is. Absolutely loved the idea of organising activities with the locals and that the days were packed with things to do. Time flew. The activities were super fun and the last day touching exercise I felt emotional where i didn't expect everyone to be that impacted by each other. I wish we had stayed with that moment a bit longer. Even being back now I already miss being a part of a tight knit community (for better or for worse) and it made me more passionate to create my own. It was a beautiful experience with even more potential and cant wait to see what you organise next''
